·   2021-2024 Direct contract with a Tallahassee Memorial Healthcare (TMH), a 750-bed community Florida hospital and healthcare system to improve their Quality and Performance Improvement. One consistent focus of the four year engagement was improving external quality ratings such as the CMS Hospital Star Ratings.  The Star ratings include measures of Mortality, Safety of Care, Readmissions, Patient Experience, and Timely and Effective Care.  Initiatives included in part – establishing a performance excellence culture, physician leadership development, cascade a Lean Six Sigma Daily Performance Management System from front line care givers to leaders, implementation of a multidisciplinary Clinical Leadership Council with initially nine evidence-based clinical pathway, develop Nursing Practice Council, a Critical Care Committee, Blood Utilization Committee, and  recommendations for medical staff Bylaws and Rules & Regulations revisions.  In addition, developed a shift from departmental peer review to multidisciplinary peer review committee, preceptor practices, coordinated with and updated TMH Board and executive leadership,  1:1 CMO regular coaching sessions, and recommendations for physician quality performance incentives for their existing co-management agreements, physician employment contracts, and medical director contracts.

The health plan settled two days before trial with the health system and the details are protected by a non-disclosure agreement.

·       2019-2021 Sub-contractor for Global Clinical Consulting providing clinical and revenue cycle claims management advice to attorneys at Pachulski, Stang, Ziehl, & Jones, San Francisco, in legal disputes to claw back disputed payments totaling hundreds of millions of dollars with major health plans regarding inappropriate denials of hospital claims for a Los Angeles health system.  In addition, provided advice regarding adjudication of the CMS Medicare Advantage Hierarchical Condition Category (HCC) risk adjustment model for capitated payments between a Los Angeles not-for-profit hospital and several large physician groups for ‘per member per month’ (PMPM) shared risk contracts.  Engagement completed successfully for the hospitals.
